With each newsletter, we try to highlight a few that have made our wheels turn, with the hopes you might find them interesting or inspiring as well. Here’s the roundup:
Housing Supply Accelerator Playbook
In the past few months the American Planning Association (APA) and the National League of Cities (NLC) released a Housing Supply Accelerator Playbook. This resource has several examples of policy actions to increase the supply of housing in communities across the nation. We have been learning about these trends to see if some or all of these strategies might fit our community. Most of them are tailored to major cities and would not easily scale to our small growing city. However, we have implemented several elements to help scale density, parking, and housing supply in our community. Most efforts have been focused on increase, but appropriate densities, mixed-use developments, increasing the variety of housing types and supporting affordable housing efforts. Learn more on the APA website and if you have any questions for us, please ask!
