All University District Review Committee meetings are now in the Warren County Courthouse Fiscal Court Room, 429 East 10th Avenue across the street from Bowling Green City Hall, unless otherwise noted.

What is the University District Review Committee?

The University District is an overlay zone which provides for a planned mix of residential dwelling types and other uses which are related to and are located in close proximity to the main campus of Western Kentucky University. Organizations that are regulated by the board include, but are not limited to, dormitories, fraternities, sororities, university affiliated rooming houses, residence halls, conference centers, student centers, and retreat houses. Typically these organizations are operated by an independent third party, religious or non-profit organization.

Health, safety, and welfare of the residents are the primary concern of this board. Each location is inspected and certified annually to ensure that the facilities are safe and up to code. Design review of the initial construction or any addition is also part of the board’s responsibility.
