Historic Preservation Board

An owner of property with a Local Historic Designation must submit a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) application before making any exterior changes, new construction projects or demolition. Applications for new construction projects or demolition requests – as well as some exterior changes – must be approved by the Historic Preservation Board at their regularly scheduled meeting: on the fourth Thursday of every month, 5 p.m. at City Hall, 1001 College Street. Other exterior change, sign, and fence applications can be approved by CCPC staff within one week. A COA fee must be submitted with all applications.
